We were founded in 1998 as a Brazilian corner store called Sendex. We were known for selling various products from Brazil, such as groceries, flip flops, and magazines, in the heart of the University District in Seattle, WA. Fast forward to 2002, we moved to the suburbs, established our new home in Kirkland, implemented a coffee shop to our small market concept, and changed our name to Kitanda. Since then, we have opened many stores and built a strong reputation for offering a wide variety of unique flavored specialty foods and beverages like the naturally gluten-free Kitanda Bread, Organic Brazilian coffee drinks, Acai Bowls and smoothies, and various unique pastries.
